Winter in Northern Finland and temperatures are as low as minus 40 degrees. A wolverine has discovered something under the snow, but it isn’t a secret for long. The ravens are quick and smart. You have to work hard here to keep these determined birds away from hard-sought-after food. But wolverine and ravens often work together as a team. The ravens are the spotters and find the carcass from the air. Their calls attract wolverine to the scene, who in turn break open the frozen cadaver with their powerful jaws. There is plenty for all. But this piece of meat is not for sharing, it’s a wolverine take-away. This female is hungry and pregnant and needs to feed in peace.
