American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), professional organization founded in 1969 for political consultants, lobbyists, media producers, fund-raisers, and campaign workers at all levels of government. The American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) is a multi-partisan organization. Headquarters are in McLean, Virginia.
The AAPC has a code of ethics that delineates expectations for members’ financial and public dealings with clients. It regularly holds campaign-training workshops and provides members with contact information about other national and international organizations that specialize in political consulting. The AAPC also sponsors the annual Pollie Awards, which recognize excellence in the production of campaign materials for candidates and other public campaigns. Awards are given for direct mail pieces; for advertising in radio, television, newspapers, and the Internet; and for promotional materials of all kinds.
