Vejle, city and port, eastern Jutland, Denmark, located on Vejle Fjord, northwest of Fredericia. Chartered in 1327, it is now an agricultural distribution centre with good harbour facilities. Since 1980 the heavy transit traffic on the main route through Jutland has been diverted to the bridge over the Vejle Fjord. The church of St. Nikolaj dates from the 13th century, and there is a city museum. Pop. (2008 est.) city, 50,213; (2005 est.) mun., 102,446.
