Krasnokamsk, city, Perm kray (territory), western Russia. Krasnokamsk lies along the Kama River. Founded in 1929 as a settlement in connection with the development of a pulp and paper mill, it became a town in 1938 and is now a satellite of Perm city. Oil was discovered nearby in 1934, and a small refinery opened in Krasnokamsk in 1943.
Oil refining and metalworking are the city’s main industries. A technical college is devoted to studies for the paper industry. Pop. (2006 est.) 52,675.
