Unlike the French spoken in France, Quebec French uses the names of holy items as swear words. The French Canadian word for “tabernacle” (where the Eucharist is kept in a Catholic church) is a popular profanity roughly equivalent to an English f-bomb. Tabarnouche and tabarouette are milder variations, similar to “fudge.”
